Judging by the fact that the previous two bands had so many sound problems, we figured Scissors for Lefty would hopefully get better. It wasn't as bad as The Frail (nothing could have gotten much worse for them) but it was still hard to hear the vocals and what Bryan Garza, the lead singer, was saying much less singing. The charming charismatic Garza played the small intimate crowd like it was a giant packed stadium. It didn't much matter what he was singing - it was how he was singing it.
The crowd definitely warmed up to them fast: dancing, yelling, interacting and generally have a great time. (We also think it had to do with that the Garza brothers are originally from San Jose.) They played about a 40-minute set which about half way through I caught myself totally rocking out. I'm usually one of those "head-bobbers" but Scissors for Lefty literally got me dancing.
Sound issues aside: Scissors for Lefty made an awesome show out of nothing and kept the energy high the entire time.
