Tonight in Rock: The Republic Tigers @ Cafe du Nord, 7/27

Written by: Rachel Antony-Levine

The Republic Tigers are continuing their epic tour of the U.S., getting the word out about their debut album, Keep Color. Having now performed on David Letterman and KCRW (where they spent some time on the Top 10), The Republic Tigers have become one of the most exciting new indie-rock bands this year. Check them out at Café Du Nord on Sunday, July 27th. (21+, $10)

Some praise for Keep Color:

An excellent collection of acoustic guitars, backing ooohhhs and aaahhhs, sailing keys, and frontman Kenn Jankowski's hushed vocals, all covered in an ethereal, smooth production." -SPIN

"Their songs contrast subtle and anthemic all at once. Mixing guitar-driven psych-pop and folk-rock with layered vocal harmonies and electronic backgrounds give this album a soaring yet relaxing vibe." –My Old Kentucky Blog
