Interview Questions:
Full given name: James Lawrence Aloysius Ichabod Roberto Clemente Amerigo Vespucci Boggia
Hometown: I don't think it's fair to make an innocent city answer for that.
MAC or PC? Mac - PC's taste horrible with cheese.
Favorite post-show meal: There's always room for sushi.
Pre-show rituals: Virgin sacrifice, but it's done tastefully.
Worst onstage mishap: Having 3,000 middle-aged women mistake me for Kevin Bacon when I played with the Bacon Brothers. Actually, the worst mishap was about three seconds later when they all realized at the exact same moment that I wasn't Kevin Bacon. You don't want to mess with 3,000 middle-aged women's sexual fantasies about Kevin Bacon.
Favorite venue to play in: Since The Point in Bryn Mawr, PA closed, The Living Room in NYC is my musical home.
Favorite place to travel: To my intended destination.
All-time favorite music venue: The original Largo in LA. Not knocking the new one, just haven't been there yet. The original was magical for the artists that played there and the respect it had for musicians and how much spontaneity and collaboration were encouraged.
Special skills: Spontaneity and collaboration. I'm surprisingly good on the Theremin when I practice. I am the only person on the North American continent who knows how to froach an egg.
Last book you read: 'Nausea' - Jean Paul Sartre
Favorite magazine: The Believer.
Must-see TV show: Don't watch TV - is 'Alf' still on?
Last good movie you saw: 'The Wrecking Crew' - Tommy Tedesco's son's documentary about the greatest session musicians that ever lived.
Favorite place you have lived: "No matter where you go, there you are." - Buckaroo Bonzai
First concert you ever saw: Andres Segovia - I was 5 and on a bit of a classical guitar freakout.
If you could go back in time and catch any concert, what would it be? April 11, 1965 - New Musical Express Reader's Poll Winner's Concert. A PARTIAL list of performers: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Animals, Them (with Van Morrison), Donovan, The Moody Blues (the early "Go Now" version with Denny Laine). This was ONE show.
Current band/musician (besides yourself) you have been recommending to your friends: Keren Ann, Bon Iver, Dr. Dog.
Most played song on your iPod: Hmm, kinda surprising - "There She Goes" by The La's. I'll stand by that.
Best vacation spot: Abbey Road Studios, London, England.
Worst job you ever had: TV Pitchman.
