Nada Surf, the indie heroes of internet and all-ages shows, will be playing two evenings in a row at The Great American Music Hall in support of their new album, Lucky, which hit stores February 8th. Apparently Daniel Lorca has injured his knee and will not be performing (bummer!) , but not to fear, Jose Galvez from Ozma will be filling in.
Yesterday, Zach Rogue of Rogue Wave started the evening off. Tonight, it will be Birdmonster. Sure to be a great night either way. (If anyone is going tonight, let us know how it goes. A review from last night will be up shortly!)
Some praise for Lucky...
"With heavenly harmonies and swollen choruses, the band can always be counted on to deliver an album’s worth of hummable, single-worthy melodies. With lyrics that are pointed, yet restrained, the music--often acoustically driven but electrically charged--is the message." - Scott Hotler
"The band have now outgrown their somewhat competent-yet-unremarkable origins that saw them pushed into the same league as Weezer or the Shins and now seem poised to reclaim the crown of purveyors of gorgeous misery." - BBC
