CD Review: Reefer "Reefer"

With a name like Reefer, you'd expect a loud scary stoner metal band, right? Maybe reggae or even surf? Well, they aren't. What are they? I don't know what you'd call it other than repetitive and boring.

Reefer's self-titled new release out on Alpha Pup records is a real snoozer--a mixture of samples, dull beats, annoying noises, and recordings of waves that sounds as monotonous as a leaky faucet in the middle of the night after a long days worth of drinking. At the very least there are few drug related references in their lyrics and song titles, which is a welcomed addition, but really...what a waste of a really great band name!
