First down the red carpet is Ryan Adams and the Cardinals new album Cardinology. I've only recently started listening to their older albums and I find their newest work to be consistent and pleasing. The first single "Fix It" has some nice lyrics, saying that he would "fix it if, I could." The slow twang on Ryan's voice gives you a country feel that doesn't leave you with a sour taste in your mouth. Although Myspace only had one song from the new album up to listen to, I am looking forward to hearing the rest of Cardinology to see what they came up with.

The Kaiser Chiefs brings out their third album Off With Their Heads. The new album definitely sounds a little bit harder and more rock than their previous albums which had big hits like "Everyday I Love You Less and Less" and "I Predict a Riot." They seem to have lost their British rock edge, but not their accents, which was sort of the appeal for me. I don't think that any of their new songs have the brain-sticking power that their previous hits have. And certain lines in "Like It Too Much" sound far too much like The Beatles' music. If you're a fan, you should definitely at least give it a listen.

The debut album, The Fame from Lady Gaga hits stores this week as well. Her main single, "Just Dance" is a great song to do just that: dance. It seems to me that it's been a while since there has been a decent Top 40 dance hit to collide with airwaves across the country. I can easily seen this song being blasted out of convertibles with the the tops down. It's just too bad that it's not summer time. But as Lady Gaga says "it's gonna be okay; just dance."
