Madi Diaz's relative youth and relaxed compositions belie the many years of formal experience that she has already accrued, first at the Paul Green School of Rock and later at Berklee College of Music. Her viscous yet dynamically flowing voice presents not only retrospective folk narratives, but also the sort of impressive center that similarly talented musicians enjoy augmenting with lap steels, clear bass and layered percussion.
"Nothing At All" is the first single from Diaz's new EP, Ten Gun Salute. Though the song and album still maintain a definite undercurrent of sentimental folk, the trained talent of Diaz and all involved means their versatile sound is always advancing in instrumentation and spirit.
